Remember Our Veterans

This is my brother, Buster, who served in the Vietnam War and was one of the lucky ones who made it home, but he was never the same. The horrors of that war stayed with him the rest of his life. He suffered with flashbacks that woke him up in the middle of the night screaming. He had panic attacks that took us forever to get him out of.

On this Veterans Day, please take a moment to say a prayer for our veterans. We need to remember that without them we would not have the freedom that we are so blessed to have.
I want you to think about those who are serving and those who have come home. We realize the danger that they are in while fighting but unless you have had someone come home from war, you have no idea how it changes their life. Not only do they fight for our freedom but they pay for that same freedom every day of their life. So please never take your freedom for granted because someone has given their life so that you may have it.
If you see a soldier today, shake their hand and tell them how much they are appreciated. But don't let that stop today. Do this every day throughout the year. When someone took the time to shake Buster's hand and thank him for his sacrifece, it gave him pride to know that they appreciated it.
So I want to take this time to thank every soldier and every nurse, doctor or anyone else who has sacrified their life so that I may be free.
I also want to thank all families that have made sacrifices both while their family members were at war and when they come home helping them adapt to life outside of war. And my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones during war.
HERE'S TO YOU VETERANS. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Thanks for sharing your dear brother's picture and story. You are right - we have NO IDEA what our vets go/have gone through. God bless them and their families! (love your prims) ~*~Lisa

Wonderful post Valerie. My father suffered like your beloved brother. Dad made it home, but couldn't ;ead a normal life ever again until the day he passed, when I was nine years old.

God bless Buster that he is having some peace now; my dear hubby is in ruins...he screams out, he hears voices even in the mall, he stays up watching TV until 3 or 4 a.m. getting so tired he can sleep a few hours. He had a good Psychotrist who was called to 911 help...he is in group therapy where 3 have already given it up and commited suicide. It is a horrible life we live and he gets very little thanks. He gathers weekly with those other vets just to share. I want my hubby to read your post. Thank you for asking others to remember...God bless them all and grant them some living peace, they shouldn't have to die to find it.
