I'm back

Hi, sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I have been on steroids and they do a real number on my body and mind. First I am so hyper I can't sit still and then when I come off of them, I am so tired that all I do is sleep. But I think I am almost back to normal again. I have staid awake for more than 3 hours today.LOL

So for the next few days I will be posting quite a bit. It's catch up time.
I just have to show you what I did. My husband loves Italian dressing on salads. But he prefers that I make it with seasoning, vinegar, oil and water instead of buying the bottles. And you can actually buy 2 packs almost as cheap as you can one. Plus each time you buy 2 packs, you get a free bottle to mix it in. So needless to say, I have salad dressing bottles running out my ears. I hated to throw them away and then ding dong, the lights went on! Why not make make-do stands with them.
First I thought of putting mod podge and cinnammon on them and then I thought why not use some of my newspapers instead of throwing them in the garbage. So I put decoupaged the bottles with newspaper and I love the look it gives. See what you think.
Tomorrow I will post a heart make do that I made with one of these. I think it's adorable. I still have to add one more thing so that it will be finishes. Until next time...

Finally

Well, I finally found out part of the problem with my photo program. And Nancy don't say I told you so.LOL
Nancy will tell you that I have no patience, none, notta.LOL So I didn't read the instruction manual. I did download the program but since I was in a hurry to have a photo program working again, I just started trying to open. I couldn't sleep last night so at 3a.m., I read the manual and found out that I still had to download another thing before I could open anything on my computer.
So I guess the lesson to be learned here is to read the manual!!!!!
Until next time...

Please Help Me!!

I need help!! My computer got a worm so my DH bought me a new computer. Only problem is that it is not compatible with my photo program and it doesn't even have a photo program on it.
So I had to buy a Photo Explosion version 4 program because it was the only one that would fit. Problem is, I can't figure out how to use it. I can't even get it to open so that I can start a new project. I also can't find the graphics or art photos.
So does anyone know how to use this program. If so please email me at valerie999@comcast.net with some instructions before I EXPLOAD!!! LOL Until next time...

They are coming

I know I promised some items up for sale today but I woke up yesterday in a huge asthma attack. The one thing you can count on when you have asthma is not to plan anything because that's always when it will hit and knock you off your feet.
Poor ole Chester is trying to be patient but he is tired of freezing. When I can't breathe, I have to have the house as cold as he can stand it. At 3:00 a.m. this morning, I was sitting outside in 17 degree weather so I could cool off.LOL
But I am working on two or three items and I will have them finished by tommorrow. So check back tommorrow night and they will be listed. Hope you understand. Until next time...

A New Way of Staining

I tried a new way of staining fabric and I love it! I tried the t-shirt dying method and it works.

Some of you may already know how to do this but for those of you who don't, you should try it. It gives it a really old look.
All you do is soak your fabric in your tea stain for about an hour, then fold it and place rubber bands around it. A 1 yard piece of fabric requires 2 rubber bands, one on each end. Longer pieces would require 3 or 4 rubber bands. Then just toss it in the dryer. Here are some pics of muslin and red ticking that I stained today.

All you have to remember is that the outside of the fabric gets the darkest. So you have to dry it about half way and then take it out of the dryer and turn it inside out. This gives it a more even stain on both sides. If it isn't as dark as you would like, just repeat the process until you get the look you want. I ran these through the process twice.
Here's pics of the fabric after it is completely dry and pressed. Don't you think this looks just like fabric that has been in an old attic for years?

Here's a picture of a Santa body that I made using this method. I just love the uneven dying.

If you have any questions, please email me at valerie999@comcast.net
I am making a Valentine heart with the ticking and it will be my first project on my selling link.
Just remember ALWAYS RUN THE DRYER WITH AN OLD TOWEL AFTER THIS PROCESS TO PREVENT YOUR DRYER FROM RUINING YOUR GOOD CLOTHES!!! I have an old towel that I wet and wring out just enough to keep it from dripping, then throw it in the dryer. I usually run it through twice and then dry a load of towels before I place any good clothes in the dryer. Enjoy. Until next time...
