My Fairy Garden

My friend, Nancy, from StitchesnStrokes has me hooked on making a Fairy Garden.  I checked hers out on her blog and it is sooooo adorable that I have to have one.
So today I put up a flower, bird feeder hanger that my DH bought me two years ago on Mother's Day.LOL  And it is the perfect size for a fairy garden!  They will have their own bath to play in and their own flowers to smell so that they will want to take up residence in my garden!  And they will have their own solar light so that they can dance in the night around the light!!
They also have a frog right down the lane that has a gazing ball for them to see their reflections.  I am really falling in love with the fairy garden idea.  I am going to make another garden around the frog so they can have neighbors.LOL
Tomorrow I am hitting Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Store and build my garden.  I already have an old dishpan to put the garden in.  I will show more pics when I get it finished.  But I am so excited about my flower hanger that I just couldn't wait to share.
If you haven't seen Nancy's fairy garden, go over to her blog and see just how adorable she has made it.  (I am going to use hers as a guideline)hee hee.  www.stitchesnstrokes.blogspot.com

Well I have to quit playing and cook supper.(YUK)LOL

Enjoy your Summer

Create and Decorate had these suggestions listed on their email list and I thought this would be a fun way to destress life  so I am sharing their ideas with you.
So far I have taken a trip to the mountains and enjoyed the COLD water with my family and we had a blast and it was so relaxing.  Here we are in the water.
Here we are stuffing our faces.LOL

For years people swam to the rocks and jumped off them.  There was an Indian that would blast the water and soak tubers all in fun.  Everyone loved it and no one could do as good a job as the Indian.
Two years ago at the sinks, someone dove into the water and wasn't even trying to soak anyone but a lady got splashed by water and filed an assault charge against the swimmer.  He didn't touch her, just the water.  The Townsend police laughed and told her if you get in the water, you are going to get splashed.  Well she went to the Blount County Sheriff and filed an assault charge and this man got put on two years probation.
So because of this one lady, the park has had to put no climbing and or jumping off rocks at every swimming hole in the mountains.  If they catch you climbing or jumping, you get fined $75.00.  I think this is soooo sad.  I can't believe one person should be able to control the majority on anything including having fun in the mountains.  Oh well.....
I can't hang the sheets out because of my allergies (sad) but I do plan on doing as many of these ideas as I can.  Sounds like fun to me!

Happy Mother's Day!!

I want to wish all my blogging Mother's a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!  I especially want to wish the Mother's who have children or husband's serving in the Military Forces a Happy Mother's Day and thank you for the sacrifices that you and your family make fighting for my freedom!!
My Mother's Day was awesome!  We went to Shoney's to eat lunch with Laura Kay and her family, Mike, Brittany and Mikey and his family.  It was a lot of fun.
Chester bought me this adorable mushroom bird bath with a bunny on the bottom for Mother's Day and I LOVE it!!.

Brittany bought me the solar bulb with angels and Laura Kay and her family bought me the frog feeder, birdhouse and birds.  They all know that I love my flower garden and pond so they can't go wrong with anything to display in them!  But the bird house and birds are going in my bathroom!  I am a reallly lucky person to have a family that loves me!

Time to DeWeed!

Last year I stayed so sick for soooooo long that I didn't get to take care of my flower bed.  So this year I am playing double make-up.LOL  I lost all but one of my miniature rose bushes and my favorite dark red rose bush last year.(sad)  but I did save one of my favorite miniature rose bushes and my lilac rose bush so that's good.
I started deweeding my flower bed last week and worked on it again this morning and almost have it finished.  I plan on finishing it this Saturday.  But I couldn't wait to show you pics of my flowers.
My hydrangea bush is just now blooming.  When it gets in full bloom they will be a beautiful bluish purple.

My azalea bushes are in a flower bed next to my pond.  Last year I found out that pine needles are really good for them so I surrounded them with pine needles and they really bloomed this year.

Here are my rose bushes.

Here are my Lilies

I can't wait until Saturday.  I am going to put another layer of plastic down, cover it with mulch and cover that with pine needles. around my rose bushes.  As you can tell, I love gardening!  Now if I could only convince my rose bushes I am helping them so that they won't bite me I wouldn't look like I have been in a cat fight.LOL
