Do You Believe In Santa?

When I was in my 30's, I started playing the fiddle.  Well the fiddle I had wasn't working any more so I told Chester I needed a new on and my fiddle teacher  said it would cost around $2,000.00!  Well he told me to dream on so I told him Santa would bring me one.  Well he laughed and told me to dream on.

Then the week after Christmas a man came into the office where we worked with a fiddle.  It had a beautiful tone and he only wanted $150.00 so I told Chester I wanted it and he bought it.  When the man left I told him, "I told you Santa would bring me one.  I just had to be patient"LOL  He told me that he didn't see Santa's signature on that check and I told him that no but Santa brought it so he could pay for it.LOLOLOL
Well my fiddle teacher told me the fiddle was worth about $2,500.00 and it was a great buy.
Then my grandson Daniel was born and he had a fascination and belief in Santa that I have never seen in a child.  His eyes would just sparkle.  And then he started school and the kids made fun on him and told him there was no Santa.  So Daniel asked me if I believed in Santa and I told him yes.  Well if I believed so did he!
He went home and told his Mom that he knew there was a Santa because Gram believed in him.  She called me and chewed me out telling me that I said I would never lie to my grandkids.  Well I told her I didn't lie.  Then she goes on to say that I don't really believe there is a REAL Santa and I told her yes I do, he brought me a fiddle!!!  She just told me that I had to grow up.  Yeah right, as if that is going to happen!!!!!
So do you believe in Santa?

Christmas Traditions as an Adult

Before I go into my Christmas tradition as an adult, I need some help. How do you get the sentences and paragraghs to separate on this stupid new blogger??? I have tried everything and it still just goes on and on and on like the Energizer Bunny!Lol Now I would like to share my adult Christmas tradition. As I told you we celebrated Christmas Eve and then just went to Grandma's on Christmas Day. Well then I got married! Yikes I didn't know there was any other way until my darling hubby informed me that we were not celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve!!! Well I was flabbergasted but he finally won out in the end. And by this time my grandparents were too old to go on Christmas Eve so we would go there first to celebrate with them, then go to my inlaws and celebrate with them and then to my Mom's and have the ham and tea and open gifts with her and my brothers. Then on Christmas morning my kids would come down and find what Santa had left them. And my Mom would come over and see what they got. So it worked out really well. Since my Mom passed everyone comes to my house. Instead of ham sandwiches, everyone brings a side dish and dessert and we have supper. My brother and my nieces and nephews come too so we have a good time. Then when they go home to celebrate with their other families, we open presents with our kids and grandkids. They get sooo excited to see what they are going to get. Then we just sit around and talk and snack until they have to go home. On Christmas Day we get up early and go see what our grandkids got from Santa and then they go to their other families for dinner. But they come by afterwards and snack and we have a good time. I don't really think it matters when you celebrate Christmas as long as it is with family or friends with lots of love to share and memories to make. Christmas is all about honoring Christ's birth and the love he gave and still gives us with his sacrifice. So I hope everyone in blogger land has a very Happy and Blessed Christmas and gets to share it in your special way with your family and friends!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! Tomorrow I'll tell you a funny about Christmas.

Childhood Christmas Tradition

My Dad died when I was five so that Christmas my Mom's parents and sister spent Christmas with us. Well this became a Christmas tradition at our home. Every year my Uncle Leonard would pick up my Grandma and Papa and bring them to our house for Christmas Eve. We always ate ham sandwiches and drank tea. My Mom was raising five kids by herself but she always managed to buy the one thing we wanted for Christmas. My Aunt Grace always bought us a coloring book and crayons. My youngest brother and I would lay and color for hours. And around ten they would go home. One year it started snowing around 3 p.m. and I was horrified that they wouldn't come for Christmas because my Papa wouldn't get out. Mom tried to tell me we would still have Christmas but I just couldn't imaging Christmas Eve without my Grandma and Papa, Uncle Leonard and Aunt Grace! I watched that door for hours in sheer panic!LOl And then around 6 in pulled my Uncle Leonard and I was literally jumping for joy as he helped my Papa and Grandma out of the car and walked them to the house!! And when I told him I didn't think he would come, he just hugged me and told me he would never disappoint me! He was the closest thing I had to a Dad. On Christmas Day we spent it with my Grandma and Papa eating at their house and having fun with the entire family. Their house was small so you just found a place to sit and ate out of your lap. But I wouldn't take anything for the love we shared every Christmas. How did you spend your Christmas when you were growing up? Tomorrow I will share Christmas tradition as an adult. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
