I thought I would give an update on my health club.
The first week was rough. My lungs were not accustomed to all that exersize so they rebelled big time.LOL I woke up every morning and had to take a breathing treatment just to breathe. I also had to take one every night before bed. I hate breathing treatments. They make my hyper.
I found out the silver sneaker club was rougher than I thought. I couldn't get through one regimen without having to sit down.LOL And on Wendsdays we line dance for one straight hour. Well needless to say, I had to sit down a lot during that hour!
But the second week, things got better. I didn't have to sit down as often and I only had to take one breathing treatment a day. YEAH!! And I began to love the line dancing. It is really fun. And you can tone it down some so that you aren't killing yourself to be in better health.
And this last week was the third week and I don't even have to take a breathing treatment. Halleluhah!!!!! Plus I only have to sit down occasionally. And I can get through one whole line dance before I have to sit down. I feel better and have dropped one dress size. The problem with that is all my pants are now falling off me.LOLOLOL
But the biggest benefit I have found from the exercising is my sleep regimen. I have had insomnia for over 20 years due to the medicines that I have to take for my lungs. I have not gone to bed before 2 in years and wake up about every 2 hours until I finally get up around 8. Some night I didn't go to sleep at all. I have been known to be awake for 36 hours before I could finally go to sleep. And I am telling you, this wears the old body out. Since I have been going to the gym, I am in bed by 12. I usually wake up around 6 or 7 but oh my gosh, I had forgotten what getting 6 hours of sleep at one time was like! I feel better and can get more accomplished. I never believed my doctor when he said exercising would help this but now I am a believer!
And Chester has wussed out. He stopped going to silver sneakers except on Mondays. Now he goes to the gym upstairs and walks on the treadmill and rides the bicycle. He walks some and uses the machines some. So as long as he is doing something, I guess that's ok. Until next time...
