I want to wish every one of my blogging friends a very HAPPY, BLESSED and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!
Brenda from The Rusty Thimble made an interesting New Years idea. Instead of making resoulutions, set goals for yourself. So this year I have decided to set some goals for me. I am going to be reasonable because I know that I can only do so much.
But I am going to try to get organized and set times for certain things. I have decided to try to sell 100 items this year. I am also going to organize my house so that I can keep it clean and still have time to craft. I am going to start playing my fiddle again. It calms me when nothing else can and I miss playing it. I have let everthing get in the way and this year I am going to make at least 30 minutes a day for playing my fiddle. I am also going to take time to read blogs every day, even if its just a few each day. I really miss reading blogs. And lastly, I am going to start going to the gym again. Chester and I went last year and then I got sick and I can't excercise when I can't breathe.LOL But we just never got back in the habit of going. So I am going to start my regimen Monday because it really does help strengthen my lungs.
So have any of you made New Year resoulutions or are you just going to set goals for yourself? Share your goals with us. Happy New Year!!

My First Cricut Project
I am soooo excited with my new cricut machine!! My niece who is a pro at scrapbooking came down last night and helped me make my first project! She brought her alphabet cartridge with her so that I could make a thank you card for the ladies of my Sunday School Class and I think it is adorable. So now my mind is reeling with ideas of what I can make with my cricut.!!LOL
So needless to say, I went and bought my own alphabet cartridge today!LOL So here are pics of my first cricut card making project. Tell me what you think?

I Must Have Been Very Good??
I was either very good last year or someone felt very sorry for me. (I think it was the latter).LOL But I got a Cricut Imagine for Christmas!!!!! And what makes this so special is that my Darling Husband never, ever buys craft or sewing items for me and this was his idea!! Now if I can learn to use it I will be flying high.LOL Britt frowned and told him that they are suppose to be downloading my "junk", not adding more.LOL So needless to say I did the happy dance for Christmas! WOOT WOOT!!
I also got 3 bottles of my shampoo and got really excited. Everyone thought I had finally lost it. But I would have had to have it to loose it.ROFLMBO! But I have very bad allergies to strong odors and it literally shuts me down when I come in contact with strong odors. The only shampoo I could use was Sun Silk and the U.S. decided not to carry it anymore and I am between a rock and a hard place to get shampoo. By oldest daughter found some at Big Lots and bought me 3 bottles so now you know why I got excited!
I also got a tricycle from The Country House that I have wanted for years and could never pay for. I am going to make me a ragged Raggedy Ann to sit on it and put it on my fireplace, I got Reebocks, a deep fryer and I forgot what else. So I really did have a wonderful Christmas!! And I got to spend Christmas with my family. What else could a girl ask for?
So was Santa good to you? Tell us what made your Christmas special!

There weere 10 people in each group and I only entered the first group. Next year I am going to enter both groups. These ladies are amazing with their creativity! What never ceases to amaze me is that I have been in lots of swaps and never received two of the same thing. It's hard to believe that you have 10 people making ornies and no two are alike! Well here's my ornies. The 10th would have been mine and oops, I gave it away.LOL

My Trick or Treater
I love Halloween. As a child that was one of our favorite holidays because we got loads of candy. We had one elderly lady who lined her dining table with any kind of candy you could think of. And I made a promise that when I got grown I would do the same thing.
Well it makes me sad that we have no kids in our neighborhood anymore so we get no trick or treaters.
Well Brittany went to a Halloween party and I forgot who she was but she came in with a wig.LOL So my DH decided to be my trick or treater. So he got the candy!LOL Isn't he cute!LOL
I hope all of you had a great Halloween with lots of trick or treasters.

So Far
Here's what I have finished so far on my fall yard decor. I love the way it looks so far.
I got an old fence from my daughter's farm and cut it in half and screwed it to my tree.
Then I cut a pumpkin out of beadboard and added a crow to it and screwed it to one side of the fence. Today I added a gourd that I cout out of plywood to the other side of the fence. I also made a wood scarecrow from The Olde Country Cupboard from plywood and screwed it to the tree right above the fence. I have a pot of mums on each side of my hay,(that I have to repot)LOL. And now I have a small wood wheelbarrow in front of the hay. I can't decide what to put in it??? I have straw that I am going to put in it but does anyone have any ideas on what to put in the hay? I have some small gourds but what else can I add? See what you think and give me some ideas!

My Heart is Broken
My oldest brother, Terry, died Tuesday afternoon from an apparent massive heart attack. He had just finished fishing and his boat drifted out in the water. He swam to get it and while climbing in the boat he yelled at his fishing buddy and then fell in the water and never came up.
Growing up my brothers and I were very close. Each one of them played a special role in my life. Terry was my big brother. When something went wrong, Terry fixed it. Even as adults, I still called Terry when something went wrong. He always made me feel safe. And now I can't call him anymore. Words can never explain how much I hurt. I know I am grown and married and I love my husband and kids with all my heart. But Terry has always been there and now he's not. I don't know what to do and I don't know how to deal with this. It has only been 2 years since my other brother, Buster, died and it seems as if everyone is leaving. I know this happens but it doesn't make it any easier. Please keep me in your prayers and pray for his kids and grandkids. The only consolation to any of this is that he was doing what he loved best, fishing. I am thankful that I still have my younger brother, Mike.
Here is a picture of Terry, me and Mike that was taken last Christmas. This will be the last picture I will ever have of Terry.
Terry, I love you and miss you.

Happy Labor Day
I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day. We were going to the mountains and get in that cold river water and it rained all day.9sad) But we still had our picnic lunch in my kitchen(LOL) and then played a game of Phase 10. I lost naturally.LOL but it was fun. I hope your day was just as good.
Now for a more serious matter. Please read this email that I received.
American company eliminates Labor Day
Tyson Foods
Eliminates Labor Day in favor of Muslim Holiday!
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you take over America ? One American at a time. Tyson chicken anyone?? None for me thanks!!!! We all need to heed this message!!!!!
Tyson Food in Shelbyville , Tennessee has eliminated Labor Day as a paid holiday in favor of the last day of Ramadan because they have 700 Muslim employees. Tennessee is the newest Hot-Bed for Muslim immigration. According to the 2010 Government Census more Muslims are flocking to Tennessee than any other state in the union.
I will no longer purchase any Tyson products. It's just one more little chunk of America that's been bitten off. If you wish to join me, then let your e-mail friends know this. If we don't stand up for something we will fall for anything. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
This was verified:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/outrage.asp
I did not believe even Snopes, so I checked it out myself:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,397645,00.html
I have nothing against Muslims or any other race but I think it's time that we stand up for our rights! I can guarantee you that if we went to another country that they would not change their holidays or anything else just to suit us. Whether you live in Tennessee or any other state, plese let Tyson Foods know that you will boycot them until they reinstate Labor Day as a holiday. If they want to make another holiday for the Muslims so be it but do not let them take away from us to do it!

What Chow Chow Is
Chow Chow must be a Southern dish.LOl Chow Chow is a relish made out of cabbage, onions, bell peppers, hot peppers, green tomatoes and mustard seed. You grind it up, drain it and then equal parts sugar and vinegar and salt to taste. Then you cook it until done and put in jars and seal. It is soooooo good on pinto beans and hot dogs. You can make it as hot or mild as you want. If anyone wants the recipe, just email me and I will be glad to send it to you.

Oh, The Convenience of Modern Technology!
Growing up my Grandmother put up chow chow with an old meat grinder. You know, the one that you put the veggies in and turn it round and round, etc. And every few refills you had to take it apart and dig the stuff out and start all over again.
When she quit canning she gave me her meat grinder, which I still have, and that's what I used for chow for 30 years! By the time I put up a run, my back was killing me. And even though I had a mop bucket under the grinder the floors were still nasty where it leaked.YUK!
Well, a few years ago I begged my DH to buy me a Kitchen Aid Mixer for Christmas and he reluctantly paid for it.LOL Then I talked my brother, Buster, into buying me a meat grinder attachment for it. Well just let me tell you it is worth every penny!!!
I put up chow tonight and all you have to do is put the veggies in it and it grinds it right out!! No turning, no emptying out and I got finished in 1/3 of the time.
I wonder what my Grandma would have thought about this?
I made it with a processer but it didn't grind it as much as the meat grinder does. Thank God for modern technology!!!!!

Let me explain
I didn'tmean to worry anyone so let me explain.LOL I don't think anything is seriously wrong with me.LOl Several months ago my left arm starting hurting and it has gotten up into my neck. The pain is excrutiating and nothing helps. I have tried heat, ice and pain pills and nothing eases it. They did ex rays and can't find out what is causing it from that so they said they have to have an MRI to see what is causing the pain.
The problem is I am a big baby!!ROFLMBO!! I am so chlostrophoebic that I can't even ride in a car without a window half way down. I know that's mental but try to explain that when I am in a state of panic!!LOl
So now they have me on prednisone again to lessen the inflammation until they can find out what's wrong and steroids drive me crazy!!!!!! But my friend Nancy from Stitches n Strokes says that the good side to steroids is that I create and create and she loves what I make while on steroids.LOL
But I also cannot be put to sleep because my lungs are too weak so I don't know what they think they are going to do if they do find out what's wrong.
So just say a prayer for me that the pain will at least ease up to where I can stand it. And I'll just have to put the rest in God's hands and accept His decision. Thanks girls! I cherish my blogging and Etsy team friends, Valerie

What a DAY!!!
Sorry I am later than I thought but not only did I have to have an MRI enen though they don't understand how chlostrophoebic I am!!! I came home and slept for 5 hrs after taking the nerve pill to keep me calm.LOL And then when I woke up and starting writing all the names down, my power went out!ARRRRRGGG!!!
But I have finally gotten all the names and number of chances in the giveaway and I had a total of 60 people enter with a total of 174 chances!! So the fastest way I knew to post this was to let my DH choose a number between 1 and 174 and he chose
Laura from Cave Creek Primitives!! Please contact me Laura and let me know which prize you want. After Laura chooses, I will post on the blog which one she took.
I want to thank everyone for entering my giveaway and making it the success it was!! I will be having another one for Christmas within the next

I'm Going To Be Late
I'm sorry but it's going to be later when I announce the winner. I forgot that I had to have an MRI early this morning and I am so chlostrophoebic that I had to take something to calm me down. So I just woke up and I am working on it now but it will take me a while to get it written down. Sorry, Valerie

A Little poem
A lady from OFG sent this poem and this is what my family would say has happened to me!LOLOLOL
The computer swallowed grandma.
Yes, honestly it's true!
she pressed 'control and 'enter'
And disappeared from view.
It devoured her completely,
The thought just makes me squirm. She
must have caught a virus
Or been eaten by a worm.
I've searched through the recycle bin
And files of every kind;
I've even used the Internet,
But nothing did I find.
In desperation, I asked Jeeves
My searches to refine.
The reply from him was negative,
Not a thing was found 'online.'
So, if inside your 'Inbox,'
My Grandma you should see,
Please 'Copy, Scan' and 'Paste' her
And send her back to me.

Well this summer has done a number on my body and I have not been able to do what I wanted. I have had to neglect my blog and my crafts while recuperating. But I am tired of being sick and I am going to fight back by doing what I want.LOL
So it's time for a giveaway and I am going to let my loyal blogging friends choose what you want me to give away out of 3 options!!!
So from Sat. 2oth to Wed 23d you vote on which one of these 3 items you would like for me to give to someone. Just leave me a comment with 1, 2 or 3 as your choice and I will go with the one with the most votes. Here goes.
Number 1 is my Lazy Dayz Crow with either the daisy or sunflower in his mouth.
Number 2 is my Fall Pumpkin
Number 3 is 3 of my fall acorns, 3 candy corn pieces and a fall stitchery that I haven't finished yet.
So let the voting begin!!

Goblins or Gram??? That is the question!
I've hacked the blog to respond to the goblin story that Gram posted in July. She has insisted that the stairs were messed up by Goblins. I dispute the claim and think that she was the culprit. I am here to testify that I have known a few goblins and I have yet to see a goblin who enjoys crafting, and even if I knew one who did, I haven't seen one running around here making messes anywhere else. Therefore, I am a firm believer that she is the mess-maker and is trying to blame the poor innocent goblins of the world for her messes!!! And since I am pro-goblin (giving goblins equal rights and freedom from unfair persucution!!), I ask you to please pass the word out that she needs to make more sales ASAP so that she can use up the offending craft items from the steps, craft rooms, and kitchen tables so that the goblins can once again frolick in freedom, and so that I don't TURN IN HER IN TO THE SHOW HOARDERS for causing my tiny goblins friends the uncessary emotional pain of being falsely accused of a crime they didn't commit!!!
Sincerely,
Bree (friend to goblins everywhere) :p
P.S. Gram, this is what you get for needing me to fix your computer again!!!!! LOVE YA!!!
