I just want to remind everyone that today is the last day to enter my giveaway. Here's a picture of the stitchery that goes with the candy corn and acorns in the number 3 selection. Good luck everyone!

WOW! I just found your blog today and I'm in love with it. I'm a farm kid from the early 50's...well, 40's too, but who remembers back that far. LOL Anyway... I digress... Everything we had was homemade and primitive. My Mom made me a doll out of one of Daddy's old black socks. Her name is Mandi and I still have her to this day. You can see her here: http://dmcorl.blogspot.com/2008/12/moms-eulogy.html Don't bother reading the blog...just page down until you see the pic. Mandi was naked for 50 years. I made the gingham dress for her 50th birthday. LOL I'm following. I will be back. ;-)
I was born in the 50's too and my Grandma didn't waste anything. She made clothes out of flour sacks and saved all her buttons and anything else she could get her hands on. Those were the good old days!, Valerie
