I Just Have To Share

I received this email and just have to share it.  God bless our TROOPS!

I HOPE THERE ISN'T ANYONE ON MY E-MAIL LIST THAT WON'T ....... KEEP THIS GOING.
Let' s get this started ,NOW!
So it will be out there on the fourth!

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE
FLAG,
OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA ,

AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR
WHICH IT STANDS,

ONE
NATION UNDER  GOD
,
INDIVISIBLE,
WITH  LIBERTY
AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

KEEP IT LIT!! KEEP IT LIT!
For all of our other military personnel, where ever they may be.
Please
Support all of the troops defending our Country.

And God Bless our Military
who are protecting our Country for our Freedom.
Thanks to them, and their sacrifices, we can celebrate the 4th of July.

We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have,
of which we should be eternally grateful.

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.

A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform;
so young, so tall, so proud.
With hair cut square and eyes alert,
he'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought how many men like him
had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil;
how many mothers' tears?

How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?

NO, FREEDOM ISN'T FREE !

I heard the sound of Taps one night,
when everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant 'Amen.'

When a flag had draped a coffin
of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
of the mothers and the wives,
of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea.

Of unmarked graves in  Arlington .

NO FREEDOM ISN'T FREE

Enjoy Your Freedom
and
God Bless Our Troops.

When you receive this,

please stop for a moment
and say a prayer for our servicemen.

Of all the gifts you could give a U.S. Soldier, prayer is the very best one.
THANK YOU .........

Thank You and The Winner Is...

First I want to thank everyone who entered my giveaways!   I also want to thank all my old blogger followers and am anxious to get to know my new ones.
I have the utmost respect for our military forces!!  My Dad was a Marine in World War II where he lost his kneecap.  My brother, Johnny, was in the army and spent one year in Korea during non war.  My brother, Terry, served in the Marines and won the championship at boxing, where he got both jaws broken and continued boxing.LOL  Not too smart but he knew he was winning and wanted that trophy!!  My brother, Buster, was in the Army and served in Viet Nam.  I still get enraged when I think about the way these boys were treated when they came home.  I told him in my opinion he survived that war and that made him a HERO in my book!!  My youngest brother was in the Air Guards and served as a Medic in Desert Storm.
So you can see why honoring the military is so important to me.  I understand the fears and tears of those who have soldiers fighting in this war and it breaks my heart every time someone is killed during this war.
I pray for our soldiers daily and teach our children at church the importance of honoring our soldiers.  So THANK YOU to all our soldiers and families!!!
Now I know you are tired of my rambling.LOL  I wish I could give everyone who entered a mouse but I just can't.  But I will be having another giveaway for fall so be sure and  enter.  So without further delay, I used random generator to draw the names of both giveaways and I still do not know how to save the box so I just have to tell you the winners.  The number of the Military Giveaway was 32, Ms. Laura.  The winning number of the regular giveaway was 30, Barb from Barb's Heartstrokes.
So Laura and Barb, please send me your address to valerie999@comcast.net and I will get your gifts in the mail.  Remember there will be a surprise gift included!
I hope everyone has a great week and stay cool!!!  Until next time...

For the last 3 years our garden has not done very well.  So this year Chester decided to put Miracle Grow Garden Soil in each row before we planted the seeds.  Well it performed miracles!!  I got 1 1/2 bushels green beans in my first picking!!  I have already put up 21 quarts of green beans plus eat a mess Sunday with new potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes and homemade biscuits.YUM YUM!!  They were delicious!  We also got our first two cucumbers out of the garden yesterday and I loaded cottage cheese with cucumbers, green onions and tomatoes.(one of my favorite dishes)  Does anyone else have a garden?

I also listed another Betsy Mouse The Star Spangled Banner in my Etsy shop.  Check out my other listings

Pond Time

Several years ago I had a pond and every day my Mom and I would go out there in the morning and afternoon and enjoy nature.  We had fish and african claw frogs and we fed them together.  Well my pond cracked and I haven't had one in the last 3 years but Chester finally fixed my pond Saturday and I bought 2 fish Monday.
I love my pond time.  It is so relaxing after a stressful day.  I still go out there every morning and every afternoon but it's just not the same without my Mom.  I will be having pond stories on my pond link so check back tomorrow for the first one.  This will be your laugh for the day!

Here's my pond.  Here's the waterfall.  Be sure and read my story about the importance of the waterfall later.I am saving the rest of the pictures for my pond page.  Check it out later.
And don't forget to sign up for my giveaway.  Just click on the link on the right and it will take you to the post to leave a comment.  Until next time...
