I have just entered a new swap on A Primitive Journey Board. This is a chain swap. I have never been on one before and it sounds so exciting. I have participated in several swaps and I love them but you always know who your partner is.
Well on this one, the first lady sends out 5 items to the next person on the list and they get to choose what items they want to keep and then replace the items with their own creations and ship to the next person on the list. I don't think you know when you get the package. This sounds like so much fun and the mystery just makes it better.
If you haven't tried A Primitive Journey, you should check it out. www.aprimitivejourney.proboards.com They are always having something fun going on. And when I get my package, I will be sure and post pics to let you see what is going on. Until next time...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day. I cooked dinner and my family came to celebrate Father's Day with their Dad, Uncle, Grandpa. An entire housefull of adults and kids.
I fried chicken with homegrown green beans and new potatoes, mac & cheese, biscuits and gravy. I also fixed 3 cakes so everyone had something they liked. We had a wonderful time and all ate too much.
But I would also like for everyone to remember the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom and could not be with their families this Father's Day. Say a special prayer for them and their families that God will ease their heartaches and give them strength until they can be reunited. Until next time...

I'm so excited. My garden is finally producing veggies and I love them. I picked green beans this morning and am going to have them for dinner tomorrow with fried chicken. And I have cucumbers. So today I went to the market and bought home grown tomatoes (mine aren't ripe yet) and new potatoes and tomorrow I am going to chow down. Take a peek at what I found. Until next time...

We had an Americana swap from Prim Sister's Radio and Nancy got my name. Well I received my gifts today and I am thrilled!!! Nancy made me a grundgy Liberty Doll Hanger that is just awesome! And she also sent me one of her pinkeeps. It is just adorable and matches my kitchen perfectly. And since that is where I do all my crafting, it is perfect. Thank you so much Nancy for the wonderful swap!!! See what you think. Until next time...

I won the CPLG blog prize for June and it came today. I was amazed it got here so fast! And I LOVE it. It is a bundle of quilt pieces that are so cute from Teresa Burke and I already know what I am going to do with some of them. So if you haven't checked them out, hop over and check out this wonderful group of ladies. www.cplg.blogspot.com. Isn't that the cutest hang tag? Thanks Teresa! Until next time...

Yesterday was our homecoming at my church and I took banana pudding and fried apple pies for my desserts. After the dinner was over, I had several people tell me they had never eaten banana pudding made like that. The bowl was wiped clean.

My daughter LK and I went rummaging today and oh my gosh, I could not believe what I found for pennies!
I got a wood bread box with hinges on the top and door closing down for $1.00, zinc lids for 50 cents apiece, old mill spools for $2.00 each and an old small cabinet that hangs on the wall for $1.00. I couldn't believe I was so lucky. My only regret was that we didn't go there first because the lady said that it had been picked over all day. I can't imaging what I missed. (darn). Oh well, I'm just going to enjoy what I did get.
I haven't had time to take pictures so I will have to post them tomorrow, I just love rummage sales!!!
Until next time...

Growing up, my grandfather (Papa) played the fiddle and I loved to hear him play. It was soothing to me when nothing else worked. So one night when Chester took me to this country show in Pigeon Forge, I heard a young man who played so close to my Papa that it made me miss him. I decided right then that I was going to learn to play the fiddle.
